MEET THE ARTISTS

KEN HURST

Having long and willingly traipsed along in the shadow of David Hockney's pioneering and boisterous pushing at the boundaries of drawing and painting on the mighty iPad, I think I've found a tipping point where tricksy computing meets and makes way for traditional craft.  Distillation, bold shapes and big colours remain a hopefully discernible trademark.

RACHEL COLLIER - WILSON

I have been a practicing artist since gaining a BA Fine Art in 1990 from Central Saint Martin’s School of Art. I try to create an emotional response to my surroundings, particularly in nature, highlighting the richness of our natural environment and adding a suggestive narrative. I am an avid life drawer, and sometimes bring images of the female form into my work. I am continuing with my printmaking practice, exploring different ways to portray my sketchy line to produce linocuts. rachel@creativewithline.com

ROSIE PACEY

The beauty within Norfolk inspires me to create my digital art. The architecture and Norfolk scenes are a base for my imagination with colour and beauty. I also have an interest in fantasy drawings, I mix natural and fantasy to open the world of imagination for people. Art has no boundaries just like the imagination. It is what it is, imagination and beauty for all to enjoy.

KIRSTIE STEADMAN

Nature in all its unforgiving but beautiful glory is a huge part of my life and is the main inspiration for my artwork. I love working with bright, bold colours but often explore calmness with more subtle hues. Art has always been a big part of my life and has helped me through a lot of unsettled times. Painting is my calm, my relax, my meditation. It makes me feel positive in times of need and most importantly it makes me feel happy. I paint mostly in acrylic and oils but experiment with other mediums too. Bring your imagination to life and paint it without thinking about it... just let it happen.

JESSICA MAE

I became really interested in sustainable design and the idea of reinventing and transforming used materials in college. Our over-spilling local waste tip prompted me to do some research where I cam across things like the Goat Pacific Garbage Patch and learned how badly plastics were affecting our oceans. Ever since, I have been collecting and repurposing as much plastic waste, first creating art pieces and then designing home products. Studying Textile Design at Norwich University of the Arts, I developed my practice of evolving and repurposing materials.

ROSEMARY GOSDON

My passion for photography began at an early age; looking through the glass plates and early coloured images produced by my grandfather in the 1920s, and then watching my father develop and print in his darkroom in the 1960s.
In both North Norfolk and in London I love to capture that unique moment in time, where the light is “just right” or the colours are picked out perfectly against a setting winter sun.
I combine images to make a unique and imagined world; each having its own unique meaning for me and, hopefully, for others.

DANIEL BOKENHAM

Having graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2016, I now work as a freelance artist and designer. My practice primarily combines photography and digital illustration, sometimes using textures taken from my photographs to digitally manipulate them into something new and original. With a strong passion for visual media, I am always bracing out to new mediums to experiment and love to collaborate with other enthusiastic artists.

EMMA HULETT

My work is all about brushwork, tone and colour. I work rapidly, completing pieces in one sitting, capturing the immediacy of the emotions I feel and conveying them through expressive brushwork and colour. Painting is always a relaxing and spontaneous event that I enjoy. I hope this is conveyed through my pieces, allowing you, the viewer, to feel through the variant colours and playful brush stroked the pleasure with which each piece was painted.

LEWIS LENTON

I am a self- taught fine artist and photographer who turned professional in 2009. Because of my Asperger Syndrome, my art is also therapeutic, helping to alleviate stress and frustration. I specialise in abstract and surreal scenes of dream-like and alien landscapes.I pen my ideas in journals before transferring them to a sketchbook and sussing out how they can best be put to paper, canvas or board.
